New York, NY—January 9, 2020—It’s the day you’ve been waiting for.
That’s because, according to the New York Times, New York City’s city government has decided to celebrate the birthday of one of its own.
The Times reports that Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office has ordered a public celebration of a birthday game that will be held at a high school football field on the Upper West Side.
The team of kids and their parents will play an “A” game with the goal of scoring a touchdown.
The city, of course, already has a large and growing contingent of fans, especially those in their early 30s and 40s who make up the bulk of the city’s population.
The city’s citywide birthday game, though, is the first of its kind in the United States.
